ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The successful candidate will teach courses in mass communications; be an active and effective team player; and contribute to the success of the Department of Mass Communications, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
EDUCATION:
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters degree in Mass Communications or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Teaching experience in an undergraduate institution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advise and mentor students and perform other faculty-related services;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chair, Department of Mass Communications;
  • Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with faculty, staff and students.
  • Candidates must be proficient in the assessment of student learning outcomes
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
 
Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
 
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule including possible evening and weekend work.  The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
