Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Create strategic communication approaches that connect more than 60,000 associates to our Mission, Vision, Values and ministry strategy. Elevate our unique story and position BSMH as an employer of choice by bringing to life our global ministry’s associate value proposition (AVP) through our associate brand. Leverage associate-centric approaches, storytelling and analytics to create, execute and measure strategic communication that engages and inspires our associates.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and execute communication strategies that inspire and inform associates, and deliver on our AVP and associate brand, and drive desired outcomes. 

  • Lead associate communications projects and campaigns. Partner closely with key stakeholders to understand goals, consult on strategic communications approach, develop key messaging, proactively identify communication opportunities and solutions, execute communication plan, and disseminate to targeted audiences.

  • Implement ministry-wide message, channel and leader communication strategies.

  • Be a subject matter expert for our updated associate brand and carry it through all associate communications to help elevate our AVP and status as an employer of choice.

  • Create compelling content and be a subject matter expert for a variety of audiences and channels including intranet, email, social, meetings, videos, blogs, and webinars.

  • Support the Marketing and Communications storytelling engine by contributing inspiring associate stories that demonstrate why Bon Secours Mercy Health is a great place to work and grow your career, while serving our patients.

  • Ensure all communication and storytelling aligns to visual and written standards using brand and style guidelines.

  • Review and analyze key metrics to measure effectiveness and engagement of communications and use results to make data-driven decisions that will strengthen the planning and execution of future projects.

Licensing/Certification

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or Business (required)
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or Business (preferred)

Work Experience

  • 3 years of relevant experience in Employee, Corporate or External Communications, Marketing or related field (required)
  • 5 year of relevant experience in Employee, Corporate or External Communications, Marketing or related field (preferred)
