Overview

Siemens Healthineers is looking for a strategic-minded Communications Manager with a passion for dynamic storytelling to join our Varian business area. This role is dedicated to protecting Varian’s cancer care narrative and embedding it across the organization through internal and change communications. You will be instrumental in driving employee engagement, strengthening culture, and enabling leaders to communicate with clarity and purpose as we advance our mission of a world without fear of cancer.  

The Communications Manager is part of Varian’s central Marketing and Communications organization. Our team is responsible advancing, protecting, and activating Varian’s leadership narrative in cancer care as part of Siemens Healthineers—aligning our people and culture around this shared purpose and embedding this story across all internal and external touchpoints to ensure consistent, meaningful, and inspiring storytelling.  

Responsibilities:

  • Internal and change communications: Lead communications strategies that inform, inspire, and align employees across the Varian business area. Develop and execute communications plans that drive culture activation, manager enablement, and organizational engagement during transformation and integration.

  • Change readiness and manager enablement: Equip leaders and people managers with tools, messaging, and guidance to help their teams navigate change and understand how strategic priorities connect to their work.

  • Employee engagement and culture: Shape and deliver content and campaigns that bring our purpose to life—through All Employee Webcasts, Senior Leader Briefings, internal news channels (including Viva Engage), fireside chats, plus more.

  • Executive and leadership communications: Partner with Varian’s executive leadership team to craft and deliver clear, authentic, and impactful messaging that strengthens connection, transparency, and trust across the organization.

  • Content development: Develop high-quality materials including talking points, presentations, FAQs, emails, and intranet content that drive engagement and understanding across multiple audiences.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner across Marketing & Communications, HR, Business Operations, and Siemens Healthineers Corporate Communications to ensure message alignment and shared storytelling across regions, functions, and business lines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field

  • 7 years of experience in internal/external communications, change management, public relations, social media, in an agency or corporate environment 

  • Excellent communicator with exceptional writing, grammar, editing and copywriting skills, with the ability to craft messages for a variety of voices

  • Experience managing communication projects at a fast-paced, dynamic company; ability to react and respond quickly to time-sensitive situations with strong attention to detail

  • A natural storyteller, have experience building editorial calendars independently, and have a passion for crafting stories through words, pictures, and video 

  • A keen visual sense, an eye for detail, and mastery of both technical and aesthetic best practices for images, video, and powerpoint 

  • An uncanny ability to develop relationships and work with employees at all levels, including executive leadership, across a wide variety of teams and departments

  • People Management a plus

  • Experience working in healthcare or medical tech preferred
