Job Description

The Diagnostics and Genomics (D&G) Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the internal visibility and reputation of the Diagnostics & Genomics (D&G) business unit comprised of 1400+ colleagues globally. This will require both scientific communications and nonscientific communications writing for internal audiences, as well as communications support for the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting into the Global Head of Communications, this role will also work closely with the LGC External Communications team and relevant LGC Business Units. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Create and execute a comprehensive communication and roadmap plan that aligns with the business objectives of the D&G unit. 
  • Senior Leadership Team Support: Provide communications support to the Senior Leadership Team of the D&G business unit including written communication, townhall, newsletter, coffee chats and more. 
  • Internal Communications: Manage internal communication channels to ensure employees are informed and engaged. This includes newsletters, intranet updates, and internal announcements. 
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality content for various platforms, including video content, Intranet articles, and in collaboration with external communications, provide social media content. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging. 
  • Measurement and Reporting: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, using metrics to drive continuous improvement. 

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in a global communications role, preferably within the healthcare or life sciences industry. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems and analytics tools. 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: $75000 annually

Maximum: $95000 annually

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for the Maryland-based position. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as: experience, skills, and location.
