Job Title: Communications Officer - Rethinking the eco-social determinants of health inequities through the transdisciplinary and intersectoral lens: European Conference 2025 (ESDHI 2025). REF: CPIS-PSR-2024-18

 

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Communications Officer to support the communication, promotion, and dissemination of the ESDHI 2025 – Rethinking the Eco-Social Determinants of Health Inequities through a Transdisciplinary and Intersectoral Lens, European Conference. This role will play a central part in ensuring the visibility and engagement of the conference through digital and traditional media channels. The successful candidate will work with the conference team to create engaging digital content, develop promotional materials, manage social media, and coordinate conference-related communications. It is necessary to be present at the conference and previous days (April and May 2025).

Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media Management: Develop and implement a strategic social media plan for ESDHI 2025, including regular updates on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn to increase engagement and reach.
  2. Video Production: Record, edit, and produce high-quality videos and reels for conference promotion, capturing highlights and key messages.
  3. Content Creation: Design and create multimedia content, including leaflets, posters, banners, and other visual materials for conference promotion and distribution.
  4. Event Planning Support: Collaborate with the organizing team to coordinate the planning and execution of conference communications, ensuring timely and effective messaging.
  5. Dissemination and Reporting: Work with the conference team to draft press releases, news updates, and summaries for digital and traditional media outlets.
  6. Live Coverage: Provide on-site social media updates during the conference, capturing live moments and key insights to engage audiences in real-time.

Benefits

●      Job Location: Barcelona, Spain

●      Contract Type: Full-time, Indefinite contract for the conference duration, in accordance with the provisions of Article 23 bis of Spanish Law 14/2011 on Science, Technology, and Innovation.

●        Gross Salary: 28.676 euros / year  (Group PSR3U)            

●        Access to Spain’s public health and social security system

 

Minimum Requirements:

●      Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or Social Sciences

●      At least 3 years of experience in digital media management and social media strategy

●      Proven experience in video production, including filming, editing, and creating short-form content (e.g., reels)

●      Proficiency in design software (e.g., Canva, Illustrator, InDesign) and video editing tools (e.g., Premiere Pro)

●      Advanced fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written

Desired Qualifications:

●      Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail

●      Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse and multidisciplinary team

●      Prior experience in promoting academic or health-related events is a plus

●      Availability to work on-site and travel if required for the conference

Key Responsibilities:

●      Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan for the conference

●      Create engaging social media content to highlight conference topics, speakers, and activities

●      Produce, edit, and publish high-quality videos and reels for promotional and archival purposes

●      Design visual materials (flyers, posters, digital banners) for conference outreach

●      Manage live social media coverage during the event to maximize engagement and visibility
