Location: Remote

Schedule: Temporary, 40 hours/week with every other Friday off, must be available for at least 5 hours within the U.S. Eastern Time (ET) business hours

Duration: August 13, 2025 - May 31, 2026 (estimate)

Hourly Rate: $50/hour

ROLE SUMMARY:

We’re seeking a skilled Communications Specialist (consultant) to support our team in elevating our digital presence, engaging our audiences, and delivering compelling content aligned with our mission. This is a fixed-term, remote consultancy for 9 months, with a focus on managing social media, contributing to website content, and supporting the Programme team with materials for health systems and hospitals working toward sustainability.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Social Media Management

  • Develop and schedule engaging, mission-aligned content across HCWH and Practice Greenhealth social media channels. Monitor performance and audience engagement.

Content Creation

  • Draft, edit, and proof high-quality digital content including blog posts, news stories, and web updates. Repurpose content into various formats (e.g., infographics, reels, short videos).

Video and Multimedia Production

  • Support the creation of short-form video and multimedia content to enhance campaigns and program materials.

Website Maintenance

  • Collaborate with the Communications and Web team to update and optimize web content for HCWH and Practice Greenhealth websites.

Program Support

  • Partner with our Program team to produce compelling communications materials that help hospitals and health systems advance sustainability goals.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple content streams and timelines simultaneously, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in communications, digital media, or related field
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills with an eye for clarity, tone, and accuracy
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts (Bluesky, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
  • Proficiency in video and multimedia content production tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or equivalent)
  • Solid project management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with website CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal or WordPress)
  • Ability to work collaboratively across time zones and teams in a fully remote environment
  • Bonus: Experience in health care, sustainability, or climate-related work
