Summary:

The Corporate Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of internal and external communications initiatives. This role is responsible for managing social media content and calendars, supporting cross-functional communication projects, and coordinating internal communications that align teams and reinforce practice culture and strategic goals. This individual works independently and exercises discretion, uses professional judgement and must be a proactive self-starter able to produce high-quality results consistently and effectively with minimal supervision.

Strong professional writing skills are central to this role, as the coordinator will be responsible for producing a variety of communication materials including newsletters, social media content, press releases and leadership messaging. This role requires proficiency in AP style, the ability to tailor messaging to various audiences and a consistent commitment to quality, clarity and brand alignment. 


PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal Communications

  • Write, edit and distribute internal communications, including newsletters (Huddles), announcements, SharePoint content (The FCS Hub), presentations, and leadership messaging using the Contact Monkey platform.
  • Help plan and execute internal events and campaigns that boost employee engagement and reinforce practice values.
  • Maintain communications calendars and archives for internal initiatives.
  • Provide communications support and content development during emergency response situations.

Social Media

  • Plan, write, and publish engaging, original content tailored for FCS social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) that promotes awareness initiatives, services and offerings, and thought leadership using Sprout Social.
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement, trends, and community feedback; respond as needed or route to the appropriate team.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure brand consistency and voice across all platforms.

Public Relations

  • Support proactive media outreach and reactive press inquiries.
  • Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media alerts, talking points, and other public-facing materials that meet AP style standards and uphold brand messaging.
  • Assist in planning and messaging for corporate events or leadership appearances.
  • Track requests and approvals for media opportunities or event participation.

Project Coordination & Management

  • Manage communications and marketing-related projects from concept through execution—ensuring timelines, deliverables, and objectives are met.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments (e.g., HR, operations, leadership) to gather content, align messaging, and manage communications calendars.
  • Maintain project tracking systems, manage tasks, and support deadlines across campaigns and deliverables.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least two (2) to four (4) years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, public relations or social media role.
  • Health care experience preferred.
  • Must have strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills across digital and traditional formats.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Firm grasp on various marketing and communications platforms, channels, and best practices, including content management systems, email platforms (e.g. Contact Monkey), design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), PR and media tracking (e.g. PR Newswire, Cision) and social and digital media.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat required (Experience with design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
  • Proficiency in copyediting using AP Style.
  • Experience with social media management tools such as Sprout Social or Hootsuite is a plus.
  • Experience with email management tools such as Constant Contact or Contact Monkey is a plus.
  • Experience with media monitoring platforms, such as Cision or Meltwater, and PR measurement tools is a plus.
  • Experience with project management systems such as Wrike, Monday, Basecamp, etc. is a plus.
