Employee Communications Intern

Position Title:  Employee Communications Intern 

Location: Dallas, TX

Your role 

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join the Employee Communications and Engagement team for the summer (~10 weeks). The Employee Communications team is central to the global company and continually seeks to drive innovation in communicating with and engaging our team members around the world. This is a hybrid role, with the ability to work from home and at least two days on-site at our Dallas office to enable collaboration and training.

What you'll do 

• Help strategize and build internal communication content, including:
  • Write and post daily internal news articles on our intranet and intranet content development
  • Edit and shoot videos and other media for internal distribution
  • Assist in the development, launch, and enhancement of new platforms i.e. MSFT Viva Engage 
  • Help support efforts to simplify, enhance, and measure communications using new technologies/design
  • Ad hoc support for the broader Employee Comms team

What you'll need

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications, Business, Media, English, or a related area of study
• Experience working with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Premiere Pro)
• A portfolio, website, or equivalent repository of previous work is preferable.
• Curiosity and desire to learn the core functions of employee communications and engagement
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Reliable form of transportation
• Knowledge of mass and alternative media and principles of interviewing, writing, and copy editing. 
• Basic podcast, video, and social media skills desired. Experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro, Vimeo, TikTok, and LinkedIn is a plus.
