At R2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) make up over 90% of companies in Latin America, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock SMBs’ potential by providing financial solutions that are tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America - where SMBs financial needs are satisfied without ever having to go to a bank.
R2 enables platforms in Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can then leverage (starting with revenue-based financing). We are a tight knit team coming from organizations such as Google, Amazon, Nubank, Uber, Capital One, Mercado Libre, Globant, J.P. Morgan. We are entering a new phase of growth following a strategic investment from Ant International, focused on rapidly expanding our partner footprint, strengthening our credit and underwriting capabilities, and scaling our operations across multiple markets.
We are looking for a strategic, commercially-minded operator to join R2’s Growth team as our first dedicated PR & Communications Manager, the architect of R2’s public narrative across Latin America.
As PR & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing a communications strategy that drives partner inbound, builds share-of-voice, and positions R2 as the category leader in embedded finance. You will own the end-to-end communications journey: from strategy and content creation to media relations and performance measurement, and support executive and partner-facing communications after major announcements.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and GTM execution, and is ideal for someone who combines rigorous thinking, editorial craft, and a builder’s mindset. You’ll collaborate closely with R2’s Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, Product, Risk and Data teams, and work directly with executive leadership at some of LatAm’s most important platforms.
Communications Strategy & Narrative Development
- Define and own R2’s multi-country PR and communications strategy.
- Translate business objectives into a resonant public narrative across Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Brazil.
- Localize communications per market, adapting messaging, tone, and timing to each country’s media landscape, cultural context, and regulatory environment.
Content, Editorial & Multimedia Leadership
- Act as R2’s editor-in-chief for external communications: produce and approve press releases, executive thought leadership, blog posts, partner case studies, and data-driven content.
- Develop a modern, multi-format content strategy that includes short-form video, social media storytelling, infographics, webinar scripts, podcasts, and multimedia assets to expand R2’s reach beyond traditional PR.
- Manage R2’s owned channels (blog, newsletter, social media) and ensure unified brand voice across all formats.
Media Relations & Outreach
- Build and scale high-value relationships with fintech, business, and tech journalists across LatAm.
- Secure strategic coverage and maintain ongoing media momentum through a mix of proactive pitching, exclusives, and data-led insights.
Executive & Thought Leadership Positioning
- Develop and execute a thought leadership program to amplify R2 leadership through interviews, bylines, events, and speaking opportunities.
- Prepare briefing documents, messaging guides, and talking points for executive-level communications.
Partner & GTM Communications
- Coordinate with Business Development to plan joint announcements, campaigns, and partner case studies.
- Build co-branded content that drives measurable partner engagement and reinforces R2’s category leadership.
Crisis, Reputation & Issues Management
- Develop and maintain R2’s crisis communications playbook, ensuring readiness for reputational, regulatory, or operational incidents.
- Serve as an advisor to leadership during high-sensitivity moments, ensuring fast, accurate, and aligned communication.
Measurement, Analytics & Reporting
- Define and track communications KPIs, including share of voice, narrative pull-through, inbound partner interest, digital engagement, and coverage quality.
- Deliver recurring performance insights to executive stakeholders to inform strategy.
Requirements
- 5+ years of high-performance experience in communications, public relations, or corporate communications, ideally in B2B tech, fintech, or high-growth startups in LatAm.
- Demonstrated, current media relationships across LatAm (financial, business, and tech press).
- Strong operational bias: ability to build multi-quarter comms plans and execute hands-on (press releases, pitches, multimedia scripts, briefing materials).
- Proven ability to translate complex financial and technical concepts into concise, persuasive narratives.
- Exceptional writing and editorial skills in Spanish and English.
- Experience developing digital and multimedia communication assets (video, social content, infographics, webinars, podcasts).
- Familiarity with AI tools for content generation, publishing, and social workflows.
- Fluency in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment and owning projects end-to-end.
