This is a remote position.
Daily Responsibilities:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and influencers.
Proactively pitch stories and secure media placements in relevant outlets.
Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests.
Write and edit press releases, articles, blog posts, and other communication materials.
Ensure all content is compelling, accurate, and consistent with brand messaging.
Develop crisis communication plans and strategies to protect the company's reputation.
Act as a spokesperson during times of crisis or sensitive issues.
Plan and coordinate press conferences, media events, and promotional activities.
Oversee logistics and ensure events are executed smoothly.
Weekly Responsibilities:
Develop marketing and communications plans including strategy, goals and tactics to achieve objectives.
Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
Coordinate all public relations activitiesย
Direct social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media.
Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media.
Manage media inquiries and interview requests
Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results frequently.ย
Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications:
Bachelorโs Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
A minimum of 2 years experience in Marketing, Public Relations, particularly within the industry
Necessary Skills & Expectations
Experience using email marketing software and ad platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook Business Suite
Strong network of media contacts and demonstrated success in securing high-impact media placements.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
Experience in crisis management and navigating sensitive issues.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into PR initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in PR software/tools and understanding of social media platforms.
