This is a remote position.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and influencers.

  • Proactively pitch stories and secure media placements in relevant outlets.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests.

  • Write and edit press releases, articles, blog posts, and other communication materials.

  • Ensure all content is compelling, accurate, and consistent with brand messaging.

  • Develop crisis communication plans and strategies to protect the company's reputation.

  • Act as a spokesperson during times of crisis or sensitive issues.

  • Plan and coordinate press conferences, media events, and promotional activities.

  • Oversee logistics and ensure events are executed smoothly.


Weekly Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing and communications plans including strategy, goals and tactics to achieve objectives.

  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.

  • Coordinate all public relations activitiesย 

  • Direct social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media.

  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media.

  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests

  • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results frequently.ย 

  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing basis.



Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in Marketing, Public Relations, particularly within the industry


Necessary Skills & Expectations

  • Experience using email marketing software and ad platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook Business Suite

  • Strong network of media contacts and demonstrated success in securing high-impact media placements.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Experience in crisis management and navigating sensitive issues.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into PR initiatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in PR software/tools and understanding of social media platforms.
