About You

You live and breathe creative pitching strategy and thrive on leveraging existing and new media relationships to garner high-profile placements. As a writer, you understand how to harness the power of storytelling and weave a salient communication style, written and verbal, into your process with clients and internal teams alike.

Your organizational skills and attention to detail are on point, you easily adapt to a variety of client requirements, and you can manage multiple projects simultaneously. You also thrive working directly with clients to skillfully assess needs, suggest intuitive solutions, and leave them feeling heard.

You are a well-rounded public relations professional who embraces challenges in a fast-paced environment and knows how to communicate to build positive relationships and get the job done efficiently and effectively. Also, you really, really love travel.

  • Can clearly communicate, organize and address daily questions, including planning, timing, media targets, and client reporting.

About the Job

Daily media monitoring and reporting of coverage that affects agency and client business. Leading public relations efforts on behalf of a team. Pitch top-tier media and secure national and localized impact stories. Develop and present strategic communication plans, including media opportunities, tactics, and timelines consistent with the overall client strategy. Craft and edit both media and client content materials, including pitches, press releases, e-blasts, newsletters, case studies, blog posts, social content, digital content, website copy, ad copy, and immersive copywriting. Manage reporting, including the collection and tracking of results. Keep up to date on industry and media trends, editorial calendars, themes, deadlines, etc., to create opportunities for clients. Secure press trips and media FAMs and assist in client media activations. Liaise with clients regularly to provide/receive updates and feedback to ensure account productivity on initiatives. Produce thorough monthly updates for clients, including media updates and new initiatives (events, marketing alliances, awards, etc.)

On a nitty-gritty level, we are looking for the following:

  • Someone with demonstrated writing skills and samples.
  • Expert level communication skills, written and verbal.
  • 3+ years of experience securing coverage in an agency setting.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring, tracking and reporting tools such as Cision, Meltwater, etc.
  • Experience working with tourism brands is a plus.
