For the expansion of Global Corporate Communications and Investor Relations team, argenx is looking for a Senior Director, Head of Communications and Patient Engagement, Developed Markets and Germany.

PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

We are seeking a Senior Director, Head of Communications and Patient Engagement, Developed Markets and Germany to join a global communications and investor relations team that serves an integral, cross-functional role at our fast-paced, global integrated immunology company. The role will report to the Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations.

The Senior Director, Communications and Patient Engagement will develop and implement impactful communication strategies and patient engagement initiatives to broadly support business objectives in Europe across all key stakeholders. The role will integrate into cross-functional teams in Germany and the Developed Markets (EU, UK, Australia, Canada), partnering closely with the general managers of each region, while working as part of a global corporate communications team.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the biotech sector and the ability to foster relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare communities. The candidate should be a strong communicator able to develop a deep understanding of the company’s corporate strategy, science and pipeline. The role requires an entrepreneurial self-starter attitude and a strong work ethic with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced global environment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Plan, develop and execute external communication plans aligned to business strategies in Germany and the Developed Markets and broadly across argenx

· Drive internal communications strategies to inspire and align colleagues to the argenx way and to deliver business priorities towards Vision 2030

· Implement public relations and media strategies, including digital and social media, to raise awareness of argenx among key stakeholders

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets

· Partner to deliver patient advocacy and public affairs strategies in Germany and the Developed Markets

· Support corporate reputation work by engaging in executive visibility planning, including speaking opportunities and media

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

· 15+ years’ communications experience or similar role at commercial-stage biotech or pharma companies, preferably in the rare disease space

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills

· Experience working and leading in a global workplace, driving strong teamwork and collaboration

· Experience providing strategic communication counsel to senior leaders

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

· Experience managing external agencies and budget

· 30 % TRAVEL REQUIRED
