This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

We are seeking a Senior Government Affairs Specialist to support the development and execution of MiniMed’s policy and advocacy agenda in the UK and Ireland. In this role, you will work closely with internal business leaders, policymakers, and healthcare stakeholders to help shape a favourable environment for patient access to diabetes technologies — including automated insulin delivery (AID) systems, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and connected digital health solutions. This is a highly visible role that blends policy expertise, stakeholder engagement, and strategic execution to advance MiniMed’s mission of empowering people with diabetes to live life on their terms.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the local government affairs strategy, aligned with regional and corporate objectives
  • Identify and help address policy barriers related to innovation adoption, digital health integration, and reimbursement
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with ministries of health, reimbursement authorities, regulatory bodies, and health committees
  • Engage with patient organisations, professional associations, and industry groups to align on shared advocacy goals
  • Track emerging legislative, regulatory, and policy trends affecting diabetes and the MedTech sector
  • Support issue management and help coordinate internal alignment across functions (Market Access, Clinical, Regulatory, and Communications)
  • Support the preparation of executive-level briefings and materials for government engagement

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Health Economics, Public Health, or another related field
  • Extensive experience in government affairs, public policy, or healthcare advocacy
  • Strong understanding of national health policy, reimbursement systems, and political decision-making processes in the UK and Ireland
  • Proven experience engaging with government agencies, policymakers, or health authorities
  • Strong influencing, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills within matrixed environments
