OUR PURPOSE AT PLANCRAFT
Building the backbone of European trades together – with AI and voice-first software.
We’re not just building software – we’re on a mission to create space for contractors & tradespeople by equipping them with AI solutions that work the way they do: fast, practical, and voice-first. With Tier 1 Investors from Europe and the US, like Headline and Creandum as well as 20,000+ tradespeople as customer base, we’re scaling across Europe to turn scattered tradespeople into thriving communities. We believe in zero admin, not zero personality – and we build every feature with the people in mind who wear the boots, not the suits. We’re #stoked to shape the future, #together as a team, and #humble in our mission to support the builders of tomorrow.
YOUR MISSION AT PLANCRAFT
As plancraft's first Senior Strategic Communications Manager (f/m/d), you design and execute a holistic corporate communications roadmap that strengthens plancraft’s reputation across Europe and expands our international visibility. Working directly with our CEO and executive team, you will drive our strategic communications direction — shaping our corporate narrative, sharpening our key messages, and elevating the thought leadership of our leadership team across internal and external audiences. You will steer impactful external communications and ensure strong alignment with Marketing as well as People & Org on brand and talent communication — positioning plancraft as a European SaaS company with growing global relevance for investors, industry voices, and top talent.

Your Responsibilities

  • Shape and evolve plancraft’s corporate narrative with a strong European and international lens.
  • Develop and iterate a strategic communications roadmap that evolves with plancraft’s scale-up journey.
  • Build and strengthen our executive communications program, enabling the CEO and leadership team to gain visibility across media, LinkedIn, conferences, and podcasts.
  • Drive external communications and media relations by securing high-quality coverage in European outlets and establishing touchpoints with globally influential tech, AI, SaaS, and VC publications.
  • Craft and ghostwrite high-impact thought leadership content on AI, construction tech, SMB workflows, and the future of work.
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, analysts, and ecosystem stakeholders across core European markets while expanding visibility into global channels.
  • Lead strategic announcements, media engagement, interview preparation, and speaking opportunities.
  • Monitor brand, media, and narrative performance to identify opportunities for strengthening global awareness.
  • Foster strong cross-functional alignment with Marketing (brand positioning) and People & Org (employer brand), especially across international audiences.
YOUR PROFILE
Must-haves

  • 5+ years in strategic communications, corporate narrative, or executive communications — ideally in B2B SaaS, tech, or digital environments.
  • Strong storytelling and narrative architecture skills — from structuring messages and frameworks to translating complex strategies into clear, compelling storylines for executives, investors, media, partners, and talent.
  • Experience driving multi-market communications strategies (EU; global exposure beneficial).
  • Hands-on executive communications expertise, from ghostwriting to keynote development and positioning leaders in international conversations.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to link communications work to business priorities and investor expectations.
  • Deep understanding of tech trends including digitalization, SaaS, productivity, skilled trades transformation, and AI’s impact on the future of work.
  • Confident collaboration closely with CEO and executive leadership, including challenging assumptions and refining narratives.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Marketing, People & Org, Product, and CEO staff.
  • High level of ownership and autonomy, with the ability to design strategy and drive execution.
  • Confidence in multiplying your impact through AI tools for research, synthesis, narrative exploration, and content acceleration.
  • Outstanding written communication in English and German (editorial-level quality).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience scaling thought leadership platforms for CEOs or founders across regions.
  • Exposure to investor-facing communications or VC storytelling.
  • Background in industry transformation narratives (e.g., sustainability, workforce evolution).
  • Familiarity with media dynamics in both EU and global ecosystems.
  • Experience in change communications or internal strategic communications.

Mindset that sets you apart
Clear and authentic communication is more than a craft to you — it’s a mindset. When topics are still undefined, you find clarity and turn complexity into compelling, coherent narratives. Recognizing early which signals can grow into meaningful stories is one of your strengths. You sense when a topic gains momentum, when timing is right, and when a message truly resonates — across media, markets, and audiences. At the same time, you work independently, think several steps ahead, and keep threads connected when a lot is in motion. Speed doesn’t intimidate you, but substance matters more than noise. You aim for communication that sharpens positions, builds understanding, and gives plancraft a clear and confident profile internally and externally.
WHY PLANCRAFT?
  • Team Spirit: We’re driven by passion, commitment, and a shared mission. Team spirit matters to us — and we make it visible: with three major team events per year, two casual monthly formats at our Hamburg HQ, and a strong recognition culture where we regularly celebrate both the big and small wins together.
  • Ownership: You’re encouraged to take ownership from day one. In a flat hierarchy and high-trust environment, you’re empowered to make meaningful decisions and drive real impact.
  • Learning & Growth: We invest in your personal and professional development through a strong feedback culture, a personal learning budget, and targeted enablement formats. Our goal is to help you unlock your full potential.
  • AI Enablement: Our internal tools and workflows are AI-enabled by design. We support every team and individual in applying AI at the next level in their daily work, including getting your own ChatGPT+ license, of course.
  • Tech & Tooling: You’ll receive a MacBook, premium over-ear headphones, and everything else you need — from hardware to tools — to be effective in your daily doing.
  • Flexibility: Whether remote, hybrid, or on-site — you work where you’re at your best. Our Hamburg office at Rödingsmarkt (with a rooftop terrace) is always open, and you decide each week how often you come in. Some roles even allow for fully remote setups. And if you need a change of scenery, working abroad is always an option.
  • Recharge: To ensure the needed rest, we offer 30 vacation days per year (based on a 5-day week) and Dec 24th off. We also subsidize your Urban Sports Club membership and organize internal sport meetups.
  • Mobility: You can lease a "JobRad" (Bike) and get a subsidized "Deutschlandticket" or "BahnCard" for public transport to be supported in your commute.
  • International Environment: We’re becoming more international every month, with team members already in Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Austria — which is why English is our internal company language.
