Position Title: Communications and Command Systems Instructor

Position Overview
The UGS Cadre Instructor will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in communications, network operations, and instructional delivery. Cadre are responsible for delivering both classroom and field-based instruction, mentoring host-nation instructors, and ensuring technical proficiency, safety, and adherence to doctrine.
All selected personnel will undergo a structured pre-deployment training program at The Swamp (UGS Advanced Training Facility, North Carolina), where they will receive Apollo system certification, language familiarization, and cultural preparation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver structured classroom and field instruction on Apollo communications systems (Corvus, TrellisWare, Starlink, ATAK, etc.).
- Mentor and evaluate host-nation instructors through a Train-the-Trainer (T3) model.
- Support system setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities.
- Ensure quality assurance through live observation, feedback, and documentation.
- Coordinate with Civil Affairs and PSYOP elements to facilitate training acceptance and community engagement.
- Maintain technical and instructional discipline consistent with UGS standards.
- Report all training metrics, system feedback, and local insights to HQ for analysis and process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant military experience (SOF preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and communicate across cultural and language barriers.
- Proficiency in radio, satellite, and network communications (TrellisWare, ATAK, Starlink).
- Willingness to deploy to African Area of Responsibility for 60–120-day rotations.
- Current passport and medical clearance
- French Language Proficiency; DLI-certified French 2/2 or higher or demonstrated equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of advanced SOF communications or intelligence schools (SONC, TSC, Cyber Enabler, BTOC, TACP).
- Prior instructional experience (military or civilian).
- Experience operating within African partner-force environments.
- Civilian IT/network certifications (CCNA, Security+, etc.).
