Our client is one of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies, with more than 50 years’ history in Brasil.

Reporting to the local CEO and dotted line to the Global Corporate Affairs Senior Vice President, this professional will be responsible for the company’s Public & Government Affairs, Communication, Corporate Brand and ESG matters in Brazil.

The key internal responsibilities of this professional will include: 

  • Develop and execute an effective and impactful public and government affairs strategy to shape the policy environment so that it is favorable to the company, engaging a broad range of public policy stakeholders such as politicians, industry associations and policy makers.
  • Develop evidence that matters for government decision-making, establishing long-term relationships with policy and decision makers, positioning the company as a partner of choice. 
  • Act as a critical link, internally connecting with company stakeholders and externally connecting the company with policy makers’ needs and expectations. 
  • Monitor the political and policy environment, ensuring senior management is fully informed of key developments with a significant business impact. 
  • Develop and execute an effective internal communications strategy aligned with our global Communications agenda to ensure everyone in is actively and positively engaged with the organization’s strategy and objectives, plans and activities, and understands the company values and behaviors and their application. 
  • Promote and protect the company corporate profile, brand and reputation based on our global Communications and Public & Government Affairs agendas, so that we help foster unique collaborations and partnerships, attract and retain future employees, and build trust with stakeholders in our products, our science and our brand. This includes overseeing the corporate social media channels and advising the business on social media techniques and tactics. 
  • Define and execute fully integrated, strategic, campaign-driven and impactful communications, maximizing (product) awareness and managing the brand and reputation of the company to support profitable growth of the portfolio. 
  • Develop and manage plans for handling communications at times of crisis; advise senior management on all aspects of communications at such times; create and deliver any necessary communications and engagement plans following a crisis 
  • Drive the Sustainable Development for Generations and local community engagement communications, including promoting the global "Making More Health" agenda. 
  • Lead the communications and public affairs team ensuring high performance and motivation by providing coaching, training, regular constructive feedback on performance and opportunities for development. 

We are looking for a senior professional with a solid track record and experience with Public & Government Affairs and Communication in the health industry, thorough understanding of the regulatory and legislative processes, and experience with trade association management, reputation building, and stakeholder engagement.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, innovative and people-oriented person, holistic and strategic business vision, executive presence with the ability to quickly establish credibility across all levels of the business and with external stakeholders, strong client focused orientation and experience in working with the Brazilian government and in-depth knowledge of the Brazilian government system, will be request for this position. 

Fluent English is mandatory.
