Duties/Responsibilities:
The Digital PR Specialist, will sit right at the intersection of PR and SEO. This role will be responsible for creating newsworthy, industry-leading content and campaigns that tell the brand’s story and promote the brand’s value to relevant audiences online.
Overall, the role of a Digital PR Specialist is two-fold. First, you will be responsible for creating and promoting relevant content and campaigns that earn media coverage. Second, you will leverage digital channels and platforms to build positive relationships with target audiences, generate brand awareness, and enhance the brand's reputation in the digital landscape. You will play a critical role in shaping the public perception of our web properties and driving engagement with the brand in the online space. Own digital PR strategy for your dedicated brand
Create content that will generate earned media coverage
Maintain digital PR editorial calendar
Build media email lists for promotional campaigns
Build relationships with key media contacts
Perform outreach to website owners, bloggers, journalists, major media outlets, and influencers
Pitch and place content with premier publications via networking and relationship building
Secure media interviews
Research and test new PR and link building tactics
Supervise and report progress to managers and clients
Improve site rankings and increase brand awareness through digital PR practices
Coordinate with several stakeholders to build multi-channel communication campaigns
Required Skills/Abilities:
Content Creation and Distribution:
Creating compelling digital content, including press releases, blog posts, articles, social media content, and multimedia materials, to promote the brand's message and engage target audiences.
Distributing content through various digital channels, including the company's website, social media platforms, online publications, and other digital media outlets.
Media Relations:
Building and maintaining relationships with online journalists, bloggers, influencers, and other digital media professionals to secure coverage and mentions for the brand.
Pitching story ideas, and other content to relevant digital media outlets and influencers to generate positive publicity and brand visibility.
Online Reputation Management:
Monitoring online conversations and social media channels to track mentions of the brand and assess sentiment.
Responding to comments, inquiries, interview requests, and mentions in a timely and professional manner to manage the brand's reputation and address any issues or concerns.
Digital Campaign Management:
Planning, executing, and monitoring digital PR campaigns to support broader marketing and communication objectives.
Collaborating with internal teams, including marketing, social media, and content creation teams, to integrate digital PR efforts with overall marketing strategies.
Measurement and Reporting:
Using digital analytics tools and metrics to track the effectiveness of digital PR efforts, including media coverage, website traffic, social media engagement, and brand sentiment.
Providing regular reports and insights to stakeholders to demonstrate the impact of digital PR activities on the brand's reputation and business objectives.
Stay Current with Digital Trends:
Keeping up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends, social media platforms, and best practices in digital PR to continually innovate and optimize strategies.
Education and Experience:
Minimum 1 or more years of experience in sales/marketing/SEO/PR, journalism or related field
Top-level internet research skills & ability to navigate social networks
Strong Google Suite knowledge
Strong written and persuasive communication skills
Organized with the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills
Attention to detail
Ability to network and connect with people digitally
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
Physical Requirements:
Sitting for Extended Periods: Like many office-based roles, this role spends much of their time in meetings, at their desks, or in other sedentary activities. They should be comfortable sitting for long periods.
Use of computer equipment: Ability to use computers, keyboards, and other office equipment extensively. They should be capable of operating these devices comfortably and efficiently.
Communication skills: While not a physical requirement in the traditional sense, effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for the role.
Ability to lift 15 lbs as needed.
