Job Summary

Candescent, a dynamic fintech innovator, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director / Senior Director of Corporate Communications. This role is pivotal in shaping and amplifying our brand narrative across multiple channels and audiences, with a scope that includes internal / employee communications, public relations, executive communications, thought leadership, industry analyst relations, social media and website.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious professional eager to drive growth and elevate Candescent's presence in the fintech landscape, and capable of managing workload and prioritizing deliverables for their team in a fast-paced start-up style environment.

Key Outcomes and Deliverables:

  • Strategic Communications Leadership: Work as a key member of the Marketing team, partnering to develop comprehensive communication strategies that align with Candescent's business objectives and promote brand reputation across a variety of audiences.
  • Brand Creation: Champion and build out this new company’s brand narrative by connecting heritage to future, bringing our positioning to life, and delivering the brand voice/personality
  • Executive Communications: Support C-suite executives with speech writing, presentations, and messaging that conveys vision and drives stakeholder engagement.
  • Public and Media Relations: Lead corporate PR strategies and execution. Build and maintain relationships with business, banking, financial, technology and fintech trade media and key industry influencers. Must be exceptionally strong in media relations and media strategy. Serve as communications point person for financial and crisis communications.
  • Internal Communications: Foster a cohesive internal culture by delivering clear and engaging communications that resonate with employees at all levels.
  • Thought Leadership: Identify and develop opportunities for Candescent to contribute to industry conversations through research, whitepapers, webinars, and speaking engagements. candescent.com Drive a long-term, proactive thought leadership campaign that elevates our brand as a leader in fintech and digital banking.
  • Industry Analyst Relations: Establish and lead analyst relations program to introduce and position Candescent’s brand with analyst community. Build relationships with key firms to shape perception and secure inclusion in industry evaluations.
  • Alliance and Partner Communications: Work with select clients on joint announcements, leading communications strategy, key messaging and activation across multiple channels.
  • Social Media Strategy: Oversee development and implementation of social media content development and campaigns that reflect the company's voice and engage target audiences.
  • Team and Agency Management: Lead, mentor and manage a small internal team and coordinate with external agencies and contractors to ensure consistent and effective communication efforts.
  • Measurement and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to measure the success of efforts, report out, and adjust strategies / tactics as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, preferably within fintech, SaaS, or high-growth B2B environments.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear messages.
  • Track record of developing strategic, impactful communications plans across earned, owned, and paid that align with business priorities.
  • Proven experience with both internal and external communications. • Experience engaging with and counseling senior executives; navigating nuanced, global organizations; and fostering collaborative decision-making among senior stakeholders.
  • Strong media relations experience; established contacts in business, banking, financial and trade media. • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams and external contractor / agency resources.
  • Ability to multitask and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines. Preferred Distinctions
