Location: Remote (within Latin America)

Type: Part-time contractor (10-20 hours per week)

Contract Duration: 6 months

About Generation:

Generation is a global nonprofit network that transforms education-to-employment systems to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible. Since launching in 2015, Generation has grown to over 140,000 graduates across 17 countries and 250+ cities.

In Latin America, Generation operates in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico — working with employers, governments, and funders to tackle youth unemployment, build skills for the future, and promote inclusive economic mobility.

About the Role:

The Communications Associate will play a key role in supporting Generation’s regional communications and reputational efforts across Latin America. Working closely with the Regional Communications Manager Consultant and Regional COO for LatAm, this person will help tell the stories of our learners, partnerships, and impact through engaging content and well-executed communications initiatives.

This is an ideal opportunity for a communications professional who is passionate about social impact, enjoys writing and storytelling, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Storytelling

- Draft, edit, and proofread communications materials such as newsletters, blog posts, social media content, press releases, and donor reports.
 - Collect and curate stories, photos, and testimonials from learners, alumni, and partners across the region.
 - Support the development of presentations and visual materials for external events and campaigns.
 - Collaborate with country teams to ensure local stories and achievements are captured and shared regionally.
 - Translate and adapt communications content between English, Spanish, and Portuguese (a plus, not a requirement), ensuring accuracy and tone alignment.

Digital & Social Media

- Support the planning, scheduling, and publishing of content on Generation social media channels.
 - Monitor engagement and performance metrics and help identify opportunities to strengthen reach and visibility.
 - Coordinate content calendars to ensure consistent posting and alignment with key organizational milestones.

Media & External Relations

- Assist in preparing and distributing press materials and maintaining media lists.
- Track and compile media coverage, press mentions, and partner highlights.
- Support coordination with communications vendors, designers, and agencies.

Internal Communications

- Help prepare internal newsletters, announcements, and leadership messages that keep Latin America teams informed and connected.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather updates and success stories that highlight impact across countries.

Project Coordination

- Support the planning and execution of communications campaigns, events, and content launches.
- Help ensure consistent application of Generation’s brand guidelines across all regional materials.
- Provide logistical and administrative support, as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
 - 3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or content creation

 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (Portuguese is a strong plus).
 - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
 - Experience using digital communication tools (e.g., Canva, Insider, Google Workspace, or similar).
 - A collaborative mindset and comfort working with remote, cross-cultural teams.

Work Environment & Schedule:

 - Exposure to regional and international communications work in a dynamic, purpose-driven team.

-  Fully remote role within Latin America time zones.
-  10-20 hours per week, flexible schedule.
-  Occasional participation in virtual or regional events.
