This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, creative and results driven individual to lead the marketing and communication strategy for the exclusive Battered Black Book digital members club, as well as BBB’s sister-company, boutique recruitment agency SORTED. In this role, you will be responsible for building brand awareness, driving member acquisition and retention, and ensuring consistent and compelling communication across all channels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing community and help shape the digital presence of a private members club within luxury and high-end markets and help grow an already successful recruitment business.  

 The Marketing & Communications Manager has the support of an Administrator to delegate regular day-to-day tasks to.

 

Hours:   Part time

Location:   Remote from your own home-office, ideally within easy access to Lond

Salary:    Dependent upon experience

Reporting to:   Founder and Head of Operations

 

Key Responsibilities:

 BATTERED BLACK BOOK

 We are developing BBB into an essential resource for our existing Members by connecting them with select Partners suppliers, who are a network of carefully curated luxury service providers.

For the purpose of this document, the term ‘members’ is intended to include both Members and Partners described above.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • ·       Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to increase membership growth and engagement.
  • ·       Create and manage marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, including social media, email, content marketing, and partnerships.
  • ·       Identify key audience segments and tailor marketing efforts to reach and engage prospective members.
  • ·       Analyse and track marketing performance, providing regular reports on campaign effectiveness, ROI, and key metrics such as member acquisition, retention, and engagement.

 

Communications & Brand Management:

  • ·       Manage all internal and external communications to ensure consistent, engaging, and clear messaging that reflects the club’s values, brand identity and voice.
  • ·       Oversee content creation for newsletters, blog posts, website updates, and social media platforms.
  • ·       Develop and maintain a strong voice for the members club, creating content that resonates with the community.
  • ·       Collaborate with partners and colleagues to produce high-quality visuals and materials that enhance the brand.

 

Member Engagement & Retention:

  • ·       Design and implement member engagement initiatives that foster a sense of community and belonging within the club.
  • ·       Create and manage campaigns to promote member-exclusive events, resources, and benefits.
  • ·       Review and create seamless onboarding and communication journeys for new members.
  • ·       Continuously seek feedback from members to enhance the overall member experience and improve retention.
  • ·       Attend external networking events when possible

 

Digital Presence & Community Building:

  • ·       Responsible for the online presence of the club, including the website, social media channels, and member portal/app.
  • ·       Develop and implement strategies to increase member interaction and participation within the online platforms.
  • ·       Engage with members directly through online platforms, email communications, and social media to foster a thriving digital community.
  • ·       Monitor trends and insights in the digital and membership space to enhance community offerings and keep the club competitive.

 

Partner Account Management

  • ·       Liaise with new Partners to create their BBB app listings, then delegate creation to Administrator
  • ·       In conjunction with the Partner Committee, manage Partners’ accounts to ensure they’re receiving regular and relevant promotions, either directly or via the app Newsfeed and qualified referrals.
  • ·       Follow and engage with BBB Partners’ social media accounts, promoting their posts / publications throughout the year as appropriate, with frequent comments and shares

 

Operations

  • ·       Working alongside Head of Operations, look for efficiencies within operations – allocation of resources, automation opportunities, functionality of website / app, tech integrations, digital workflows etc.
  • ·       Manage any app queries, member issues/questions/concerns, delegating to Administrator when appropriate
  • ·       Liaise with the technical team on any app updates/issues
  • ·       Keep the app updated (android & IOS)

 

 

SORTED

 

  • Marketing and Communications
  • ·         Create all comms and digital workflows for candidates within RecruiterFlow, Elay and Klaviyo
  • ·         Create all comms and digital workflows for clients
  • ·         Promote BBB to SORTED candidates and clients
  • ·         Promote SORTED to the wider market using LinkedIn, Elay and other tools or initiatives you suggest
  • ·         Oversee update of SORTED’s Instagram account and creation of content schedule
  • ·         Create monthly SORTED Newsletter schedule

 

 

Candidates must be / have:

  • ·         Experience in sales, PR or marketing within any of; luxury goods, hospitality, travel, concierge, or events sectors
  • ·         Experience in membership organisations would be highly advantageous
  • ·         Experienced in social media management, specifically using; Instagram and LinkedIn
  • ·         Strong technical skills (Mac & PC) – we currently work with Trello, Dropbox, Canva, Klaviyo, Zapier, Disciple, Xero, Stripe
  • ·         A self-starter: self-motivated, proactive and disciplined to work independently and with autonomy
  • ·         Extremely well-organised and efficient to work to deadlines and meet targets
  • ·         Commercially astute and business-minded
  • ·         Excellent written English and creative writing
  • ·         A ‘good eye’ for image sourcing etc
  • ·         A confident networker
