 We are offering an opportunity to work in a Senior Communications Specialist role with a highly skilled, entrepreneurially focused team. This position offers the flexibility of working from home.

Position Summary

TransPro Consulting is looking for a strong communicator to lead the development of strategic proposal initiatives prepared for the federal government.  This opportunity will support TransPro’s CEO in delivering our largest and most complex project(s). The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with multiple teams and operate in highly fluid and dynamic environments to help TransPro achieve success.

We are seeking a team player, strong communicator, and persuasive storyteller to lead complex strategy documents, proposals and position the CEO for success as he conducts interviews for a myriad of audiences, including federal, state and local public officials.  Attention to detail is a must as is the ability to exercise and implement critical, strategic thinking. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides effective story telling with proven ability to convey complicated messages in digestible, graphically compelling formats.
  • Writes/leads strategy, position and qualification packages, proposals, and leave-behind material for TransPro’s most complex opportunities and highest priority projects.
  • Collaborates with the CEO and other technical staff and writes/reviews/edits original content for clarity and key messages.  
  • Works with federal strategy teams to develop performance strategies, including providing intelligence on initiatives, strategies, and opportunities that may be used to transform the public sector.
  • Organizes and supports the CEO in developing presentation and other marketing materials.
  • Organizes and facilitates other strategy content including, but not limited to meeting agendas, meeting content, meeting summaries, leave-behind materials/presentations, newsletters, videos, and other social media content. 
  • Supports the CEO and other TransPro team members by preparing strategic communication materials for internal and external meetings, as well as participating in client-facing team meetings.
  • Coordinate public relations (PR) activities, including creating press releases and announcements, writing articles for newsletters, and coordinating other special PR-related projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, Business or relevant degree
  • 5 years relevant experience

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Persuasive writing for the public transportation sector
  • Social media strategy and content development, including video
  • Strong verbal communication
  • Strategic thinking especially related to Federal legislation and policy
  • Acute attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Event planning and coordination, with emphasis on creating welcoming, hospitable, and memorable engagement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses a strategic mindset 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, and other communications-related software programs
  Other Requirements:
  • Candidates must have their own laptop/computer and cellular phone (technology stipend provided)
  • Willingness and ability to travel (1-2 times a month)
